American East Conference (1)
The Conference does not have a single win against a team ranked in the top 25. Vermont is looking like the best team in the conference...but the standings are very close. The Tournament favorite is Vermont..and they are our pick to make the NCAAs.
Atlantic 10 Conference (2)
Xavier is a lock to make the tournament, barring a HUGE collapse down the stretch. St. Joe is the current conference leader, but still has Xavier to play, and their one loss is to Dayton. Dayton has beatin both St. Joe and Xavier. In the end, I believe Dayton and Xavier will both make the tourney.
Atlantic Coast Conference (7)
Carolina and Duke are still the two strongest teams in the conference. Clemson is a very strong club. It will be interesting to see how Wake forest finishes the season after the N.C. State loss. Duke needs to prove they can win again after two losses in a row..North Carolina, Duke, Wake Forest, Clemson, Florida State, Virgina Tech, and Boston College are my favs to make it to the dance.
Atlantic Sun Conference (1)
East Tennessee State, Jacksonville and Belmont are both having great years. Great win by Belmont over E. TN on Saturday (3 point victory). We like Eastern Tennesse..but this conference battle is going to be a fun one to watch.
Big 12 Conference (4)
Kansas State had a huge loss against Kansas on Saturday. Baylor and Oklahoma State have fallen off the map, while Mizzou just keeps on climbing. Texas is finally back on the winning side of things. Oklahoma could be a huge force in the tourney..or the first #1 seed out. We like Kansas, Missouri, Texas, and Oklahoma.
Big East Conference (7)
What in the world happened to Notre Dame? Cincinnati could be a cinderella team come tournament time. You could see 3 Big East teams in the final 4 very easily with UConn, Pittsburgh, and Louisville. We like 7 to get in right now, UConn, Pittsburgh, Louisville, Marquette, Villanova, Syracuse, and Cincinnati...but that could change in a heartbeat.
Big Sky Conference (1)
Weber State is almost 2 games up on the rest of the conference. The team does have a huge matchup with Portland on Valentin's day. I see Weber State as the lone member in the conference making the dance.
Big South Conference (1)
VMI had a huge win over Kentucky to start the season, and that offense of theirs is very powerful. Their 20-4 overall record is fantastic, but they need to hold off Radford on Feb. 24th in order to make the tourney. I see VMI making the tourney...and possibly pulling off a first round upset.
Big Ten Conference (6)
Michigan State is by far the best team in this conference. Will Purdue ever put it together? Minnesota is a very surprising team, but not likely tough to handle in the tournament. Wisconsin needs to step it up, and I think they will. I like Michigan State, Illinois, Ohio State, Purdue, Minnesota, and Wisconsin making the tourney.
Big West Conference (1)
Definitely no powerhouses in this conference. Long Beach State has a little tourney experience, but Cal State Northridge is on a roll. As long as Cal State Northridge continues the way they've been playing, they will find themselves in the dance.
Colonial Athletic Association (1)
Great Cinderella story a few years ago with George Mason, but no one is that strong in the league this year. Virginia Commonwealth and Northeastern are the best teams in the league, Lunardi likes Northeastern..I like Virginia Commonwealth.
Conference USA (1)
Memphis is very young and lacks a lot of experience. Tyreke Evans just keeps getting better. They HAMMERED Tulsa at home, after a very close game at their place. Memphis still undefeated in this conference shows the lack of firepower the other teams in this conference possess.
Horizon League (1)
Butler is the best team in this conference, but Green Bay is a close 2nd. Butler is a tournament lock, and Green Bay's win over a Top 25 and current win streak definitely looks good on their tournament resume. Right now, Butler is the only team in...
Ivy League (1)
Princeton is undefeated, and the best team in this conference. There will definitely only be one team that gets in from the Ivy League, and you can never go wrong with picking Princeton to win this league.
Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (1)
Siena hit a bit of a rut at the beginning of the year, but has proven that they are still the best team in the MAAC. The loss against Wichita State was pretty ugly. Hopefully the team can step it up come tourney time..
Mid-American Conference (1)
Buffalo is riding an 8 game win streak, and is the current leading the East. The only team to make the NCAAs will be the conference tourney winner..which in our minds will definitely be Buffalo. The West side of the conference is very off this year..not a single team with a winning record..ouch!
Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (1)
Morgan State is currently dominating the rest o fthe pack. Big game with Bethune-Cookman on the horizon. My favorite to win their conferance tourney is Morgan State..but Bethune and Norfolk both stand a legitimate chance of winning and making the dance.
Missouri Valley Conference (1)
The Valley has done nothing but hurt itself all season long. Northern Iowa had a horrible non-conference, but has turned it on during conference play. This makes me think the Valley is much weaker than usual. Creighton has come on extremely strong as of late..and UNI is slowly collapsing..we like Creighton.
Mountain West Conference (4)
The Mountain West is one of the strongest conferences in the nation this year. UNLV has been a team to reckon with in past tourneys, but BYU, San Diego State, and Utah are my picks to get in. This conference could possibly get up to 5 teams in if New Mexico gets on a hot streak..
Northeast Conference (1)
Robert Morris is running away with the conference, but will not make any noise in the tourney. Would be pretty fun if they did though..
Ohio Valley Conference (1)
Tennessee Martin is on an absolute roll right now. Joe Lunardi likes Morehead State...but how can you pass on the team that scores lots of points and has won so many games in a row?
Pacific-10 Conference (4)
UCLA has come on extremely strong lately. A romping win over Notre Dame proves that they would fair very well in the Big East as well. Arizona and USC are trying to squeek their way into the tourney. Right now, I like UCLA, Washington, Arizona State, and Cal.
Patriot League (1)
Holy Cross and American are the two best teams in the conference, and both currently on win streaks. Holy Cross is always a team to contend with, and my pick to make the tourney out of this conference.
Southeastern Conference (5)
Conference is as weak as it has ever been. It will be interesting to see who steps up and finally wins the conference. I liked Kentucky, but they have faltered as of late. Florida, Kentucky, South Carolina, LSU, and Tennessee should all be dancing.
Southern Conference (1)
Davidson and then everyone else. They do have one loss in conference, but I certainly don't expect that to him again.
Southland Conference (1)
